Case 350 - Engine removal, stuck.

Been trying to remove the 188D out of my Case 350 track loader, and have not been able to free it from the "bell housing". Removed the 2 nuts from the studs at the bottom of the bell housing and the one in front at the cross member, I am assuming that's all that has to be removed? I can lift up on the front of the engine and the bottom is free, but the top is still stuck around the bell housing. On the left side, about 3/4 way up the block, there is a boss there, and I am guessing it's a dowel pin between the housing and the block. Is that right? It wouldn't be bolted from inside the housing, would it? Nothing needs to be unbolted around the converter, does it? Once the engine is free, the converter/flywheel/engine assemble should just slide out as one unit, right?
Sorry for all the questions, but I've never had this much trouble pulling an engine. I really think it's just stuck around a dowel pin and I need to just keep working it, but I don't want to miss something.

Thanks,

Jon

did you remove the flex plate nuts ? in the bell houseing?you get at them from the under side. but don't the 350 have a drive shaft to the trans like the 450 if so it all comes out in one

No, I didn't remove anything from the flexplate or torque converter. There is the shuttle shift unit between the converter and the trans. I was assuming that the engine/flywheel/flexplate/converter would come out as one unit, leaving the "bell housing"/shuttle shift in the tractor.

if it's like the 450 you can't get the bell houesing apart with out removeing the bolts from thr flex plate the TC will stay in the bell houesing that come off not on the engine
