I have a Hough 65C with a DT407 engine that needs to be replaced. What other IHC engines can I use to replace it with? Does anyone have any such engines?

It would have to be one from a 1256 as that is the turbo version and the one out of a 1456 would be a higher horse power . The 856 is a non turbo . Unless there is a hole in the side of the block then i would do a rebuild on it . But keep in mind that the D361-407 are not and engine that a novice wants to try and do a rebuild on as they have some quarks and if one does not fallow the propper way on the rebuild it will come ungluded in short order . They need to be bored .010 over and have the oversize sleeves installed as the bores get out of round over time and after you install the new sleeves it is wise to run a ridged hone down thru the new sleeves as they will wrinkel some wjhen being pressed in and you have to check each sleeve with a bore gauge to make sure that there is no tapper or out of roundness and fit each piston to each hole. If done correctly and the head is retorqued after the engine is brough up to operating temp and again at around 50 hours along with valve adjustments then it should go for many thousands of hours . My 806 has over 8000 hours on her and last fall was the first time that the valve cover was ever off of her for a valve adjustment .
