Just about every cylinder on my 81 John Deere 500C slowly drop. This is most frustrating with the front bucket. The hoe I can deal with but it's hard to grade and hold loads with this front bucket problem. The machine is well taken care of and everything else seems to work fine. Im thinking the spool valves (thats what I call em)OD diameter or bore within the loader valve assembley is worn or maybe just some orings?? That loader valve is way down low so I guess I have to drain all the Hyd fluid just to check it out, right? Now, I also believe my hydraulic pump isn't exactly brand new as some times I seem to try and bite off more than it can chew but I don't think thats the problem as even when it just sits in the yard things slowly droop. Hmmm, that happens with us human too doesn't it!!

Also, I was told of an aftermarket company that made JD parts but I forgot the name, can someone help me?? THANK YOU!!

Hey Dyna , Before you go to all the trouble to rip out the control valve , Take it from an " Old Drooper " , check cylinder packings first...I'll put money on packings leaking internally instead of valve problems... On the loader lift cylinders , Curl the bucket all the way down..Set the bucket cutting edge on the ground..Take off the line that goes to the barrel end [ chrome end]. Put a plug into the line to cap it off..Start the machine and put slight down pressure on the loader..If the packings are bad , oil will pour from the cylinder fitting thats been left open..oil will pour continuously from the fitting as long as you hold the valve in the lower position..Check the other cylinder the same way....Betcha they leak.....
