The machine is a 1988 JCB 3CX Backhoe, it's the 'grey cab' version I think JCB called it a project 7. Recently the transmission started to make a lot of noise in forward, reverse is not affected. It still pushes OK but the noise is worrying me. The transmission looks different to older 3cx or 3c models and the forward/reverse selection is done electricaly with a short 'stick' on the column. I'm not at all familiar with this can anyone offer any advice?? Also how difficult is it to tear down this unit??
Tony.

yes this box is different to 3c and early 3cx

not trying to scare you you need to know what you are doing with these boxes as they need shimming up on all the shafts

need any info or pics please send me an e mail to the one above
