There is a Dynahoe 200-4 B running on eBay. The seller list it at 160 hp with a Detroit 4 cyl. My 490 has a 4-53 and is rated 117. Does that 160 figure sound right to y'all?
Thanks, Pel

detroit 471 HP depends solely on what model# injectors are installed..pull the rocker cover off,the inj# is on a tag on the side of the injectors..figure on at least 100hp..I'm assuming this is a non-turbo engine

One other thing, the eBay description list it at 18 tons. That's 36,000 POUNDS! The manual for my 490 list it at 24,800. The unit on eBay looks just like my 490. Is the 200 a larger machine?

Thanks, Pel

Dynahoe 200-4....16 Ton. Officially listed as the largest Tractor Loader Backhoe mass produced in the world. Options could push the weight higher....clam bucket, hammer and such all add weight. Hoe Dig depth 21 feet..... It"s a standard Detroit 473...I dunno the HP.... 1 machine fleet though.. Push like a dozer, load like a payloader, dig like an excavator albeit much slower on all counts. They are POWERFUL slow moving beasts

If it is a 4-71, then the 160 HP is reasonable.

You're right. I didn't think about it being a 4-71 instead of a 4-53.

Thanks for the reply F100. Now I am courious. In the photos it looks just like my 490. I wonder where the extra weight comes in. Could it be the same design but physically larger? I'd kinda like to have one of them monsters.

I had a 190-4.. 10 ton ( I had a manual for both the 190 & a 200-4 so I"m sure of the weights... ) The 190 dug 19 feet with the hoe. When I first got it I was aew struck by the size. I had it a while & got used to the size then I walked up to a 200-4. TOTALLY awestruck... Just plain huge all over from the size of the backhoe outriggers to the height.. Speaking of height... the guy who owned the 200 was late 60"s in age/ran large equipment all his life, told me while he was driving the thing around the height made him uncomfortable & he kept the backhoe stabalizers extended as the machine felt tippy due to height...

Do you still have the manual for the 200?

Sorry.. no.... No more Dynahoes live here. I love the machines. They are near indestructable. But if you do break something proprietary to Dynahoe the cost for parts is prohibitive to a hobbyist playing in the dirt around the property...
