Anyone want to part with a good radiator for an AC 653 dozer? Mine is pretty beat up and the repair shop says it needs re-cored. I agree with them, but that is a lot of money. Is there an alternate radiator that will work in these machines?

UPDATE.. I don't beleive the radiator in my machine is the one that came in it new. The filler neck on the very top of the tank, not on the side side of the top tank as is illustrated in the manual. Also part of the dozer where the grill is bolted has been torched away to make room for the filler neck to clear. The radiator still bolts in from the sides like the original though, and it has provisions for the torque converter cooling lines. Could this be from a similar dozer or AC tractor? I see new radiators for AC tractors for less than half the cost of recoring this one. I would just like to know which one it is. Thanks.

I've never seen a radiator in any HD4 or 650 series with an opening on the top of tank. Your's IS still rear mounted by the dashboard? There are supposed to be two on the top tank coming out sideways facing forward and nothing on top. One of those that faces forward gets hooked to a hose and elbow connection that holds the filler neck and cap. It is a pretty odd-ball radiator, and I've never seen anything else that's close. How many other machines are there with a rear-mounted radiator and converter cooling lines? - that's an oddity in itself. I know where there are several complete part's machines with radiators. They are rarely banged up since brush can't get to them. Seems the only thing that can hurt them is the fan - if the shaft and bearing mounts come apart. But still - I have no idea what condition they are in - and I suspect the prices won't be cheap. I just got done fixing the radiator in my HD4 - which is basically the same thing as a 650. The core was fine, but the solder-seams had leaks all over the place. I brought it to a radiator shop - and they told me it was all fixed. Shortly before I was getting ready to install it - I put a pressure-tester on it, and dropped it in my pond. Glad I did. I leaked like a sieve and I wound up fixing it myself. Just about every seam, especially where the hose-flanges attach to tanks, leaked.

My radiator is odd. It's got the filler tube right on top of the top tank. The hoses connect to the top and bottom tanks from the sides. It is mounted in the correct position. Like I said, the framework above the radiator has been notched for the filler neck. What do you think that my radiator could have come out of?
