Thank you Roy Suomi and jdemaris for replying to my 6-3-06 posting. Since that time I have determined that my spare transmission needs to be rebuilt. It likely has a failed output shaft front bearing (there is a hole in the front bearing cover. Also the stationary and sliding 3rd gears are about as worn as my 350C loader that I started working on.
I will use my 350C loader until I have more time to do a good complete rebuild of the drivetrain. I'm hoping that there is enough metal on these gears that will give me 3rd gear when needed. Thank you for your experience and advice on this point.
I went ahead and took apart the shift mechanisms on both of these transmissions. I was able to order all needed parts except for interlock plug T20853 (qty 2) and 3rd speed lever T15756 (qty 1). Also I forgot to order, am unsure if available, and still need interlock dowel pin M180T (qty 4).
Does anyone know of another source for these and other obsolete Deere parts?

M180T is still listed on the Deere parts website for $4.35 ea. You will have to try to find the other parts used or maybe a deere dealer can search other dealers stock for remaining parts.
