Well, here's the scoop on how the rebuild is going on my Case 350 /188 diesel rebuild. Got it tore down, #2 rod spun a bearing. Shop says the crank is junk. Rod's all cleaned up fine. Now I am looking for an engine kit and a crankshaft. Here's what I have found so far. Can anyone comment on the quality or service from any of these?

- This site sells the kits, which include head gasket set.
- Equipment Parts Source seems to be pretty recommended on this site. doesn't include head gasket, but they have the crankshaft as well.
- PD Mechanical carries some parts, and they have been rather helpful on this site.

Thanks,

Jon

theres a guy that sells on ebay, has good prices but im not sure of the quality. he has a kit and a crank listed right now, about $1100 total. I need the same things for a case backhoe but have been putting off starting on the job. let me know how things turn out. just punch in "case 188 engine" on ebay and it will come up.

Yeah, I have seen his stuff over there. It's tempting, with the crank being priced $150 less than everyone else, but almost seems too good to be true. I will let you know how things turn out. So far, getting the engine out was the worst. The engine looks to be a pretty simple rebuild, as far as rebuild's go.
