I am going to look at a Ford 655 TLB 4x4. The owner said that it quit pulling forward and reverse.
Question, What do I need to look at when I check out the machine? I heard the Torque Converter, How and where do you check this.
Thanks, Brian

I bought the Tractor and found the mice had eaten through the wires for the forward/reverse. I spliced the wires and the tractor movrs now.
I have another question, The tractor will go right into reverse but when I go forward, it takes a couple seconds then jumps right in.
Is there an adjustment for the forward/reverse solenoid or something else I can look at?
Brian

You adjust it right at the stearing column. The "box: that the lever sticks out of, is rotated to adjust the reverser.

There is a plate under the fuel tank that you can access the front of the transmission / torque converter..First look for the easy stuff first..Is the reverser oil level up ?? Front 2 bolt plate under brake pedals..A lot of people don't know it's there. If the torque converter drive plate is broke apart , it's splitting time..Ford had a problem with the drive plates for a few years..
