D5B LGP final / sprocket seal

What is involved in replacing the seal behind the sprocket / final drive. This machine is the size of a D6. Also does anyone have a service manual for this dozer 46x00628 Thanks

Yes I have the Manual. unless you cat dealer will rent you the tooling and it is dangerous to use
the best way is to pull the final drive in one peice.

carry it to either you cat dealer or and indepedant undercarriage parts dealer and let them press it apart and replace the inner seals
I make it a practice to also replace the outer seal group and the large "O" ring in the holder assy.

Bob Plumadore, how much would you want for your mamual? I"m having trouble finding one that matches my Serial #. When you said pull the final drive assemble, what is involved in doing it this way? Also what is the best way to get the roller assembly out of the way? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

all the D5 books will give you the same info. I will scan you that part of the manual the roller frame is simple but heavy,I need you E Mail address to send the scans

It's a big job and you need pulling tools and press. Manual will explain.
