Most new tractors are now 100 hrs. We did have an issue years ago with Mercedes-Benz diesels fitted to Claas combines where owners, not wanting to stop during harvest would change the oil before they started using the machines, sometimes only 5 or 10 hours run, those engines burned oil for the rest of their days, those who WORKED the combine for the full time and changed the oil when supposed to never had to top up between changes. I would give it 50 to 100 hours of WORK and dont let her idle.

Many manufacturers list first oil change at 50 hours. It looks like some do at 100, too. Personally, it gets changed after the first hour to ensure that there is no left over "stuff". I don't really like the moly lube to be mixed in with the engine oil either. I don't change the filter until 50 hours though. Probably a waste of oil but have been doing it that way for years and have had no issues with any rebuilds.
