Hello,
I currently own an excellent condition 1955? Cat D2 but would like some more power as it seems a little small. Someone is offering a 1953 Cat 69U. I've searched for info on this model but can't find anything. can anyone kindly point me in the right direction please.

Regards
Martin

The D6 9U 74" Gauge ( center of track to center of track )model was produced for 12 years 1947-1949 not sure how many units were produced, I believe the later ones 1953-1959 have an oil ( wet ) clutch system, although you would have to look in a parts or serviceman's reference book to identify when the changeover occurred.

Even dry clutch models, these were highly regarded and popular tractors, the 8U series was 60" Gauge. It is evident that these and other models from the same era were very reliable if maintained properly, even so if not. The next series to follow all the way up to the D6-D were quite popular from what I've read and I've operated plenty of those D's in years past. The other forums listed below may be of some help to you in your research, often times original manuals turn up for sale on e-bay if you do happen to obtain one of these tractors.
