My hd6g WIll take off by itself on a slight incline. When I got it the motor was out of it, not locked up, we loaded it on the lowboy with a big JD skid loader

Yes if you have a big winch and someone pushing on rear of machine. I had a little H3 took all of a 10000 winch double line to get it on trailer. They dont roll to easy. Hope this helps Rick

I don't have an HD5, but most older (non Hystat) crawlers will roll pretty easily if: they're in neutral, the blade/bucket is up, the clutch(es) are fully disengaged (and not rusted together), the rollers/idlers are not seized up, the final(s) are not seized up (or have chunks of gears floating around in them), and the chain link/pins/bushings are not rusted all together (that's a biggy). My 11 ton crawler will roll down a slight incline all by itself when in neutral with the brakes off. A small tractor could tow it pretty easily on flat ground.
