Hi guys, fiddled with the neighbors 350 more tonight. Its a loader version.

1. He said never put it in reverse and use the reverser, he was told not to do it by someone he talked to, what will happen? I also wondered for awhile if the reverser would be backwards if you used the reverse gear.

2. Next to the loader control lever, theres a small lever, possibly for another circut, any idea for what its used for?

3. Some of you might have read I thought it needed a steering clutch. it doesnt, but one is frozen up. Whats the best way to unlock it?

Thats all for now I think, Thanks again

Adjust the sticking clutch so you know it is suppose to be disengaged, tie the handle back into clutch open position (but short of brake), and use it for an hour. If it doesn't unstick THEN open it up. May save you a lot of work.

The extra lever is for any aux. hydraulics which could be used for many things. Some have remotes on the back like a farm tractor, some get used for a rear-ripper like mine, extras on the front bucket, etc. In regard to never using gear reverse while in hydraulic reverse?? It makes no difference, but I can't think of any good reason for doing it. Reverse-Reverse results in going forward - so why bother. The hydraulic reverser is in front of the gear transmission - so the hydraulic reverser does not "know", nor does it care what gear the gear-transmission is in. And, the gear-transmission does not "care" what direction it's input is turning. When the 350C came out, the hydraulic reverser was no longer an option, i.e. it HAD to be standard equipment since it powered the new wet steering clutches. Since it was standard, Deere left gear-reverse out of the transmssion - so C series and later do not have it. One note though - the hydraulic reverser is NOT as strong in reverse as it is in forward. It IS designed to handle the power of the three cylinder engine while in reverse - but still - it is stronger in forward position. That because when in forward, power is NOT transmitted via the little reverse counter shaft, and the input and output shafts are locked together instead of counter-rotating.

It is a 1965, The extra handle was for a clam bucket or extra hydraulics.Only way to fix steering clutches is to tear it apart. If you need parts i have them.
