I"m trying to identify an IH 500c track loader so I can get an service manual on it. The only tag I can find is above the gauges but my local equipment sales company doesn"t think that"s the VIN/model/serial number. Does anyone know where I could look and possibly find the right ones?

Hello Tomcat13, --- 9 / Aug. / 2006 ---

The International "500C" was made at the IH Plasnt, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. It was made from 1970 to 1974. The SERIAL NUMBERs used on that crawler was the KIND and CODE Serial Number.

KIND -- 1st three number -- 407
CODE -- the next 4 numbers and could be one of these numbers; "0004" "0006" "0010" "0014" "0016" "0052" "C" the country that it was made -- Canada

the next group of numbers are actually the SERIAL NUMBER that will date your crawler.

The PARTS CATALOG for the "500C" is "TC-205"

If you need more info - E-Mail me "farmall28@yahoo.com"
