I have a cat with ser# 2T 8545 S on the right side of the engine block there is 8B 2746. Is this a rd or a d4? I'm looking to get fuel filters (4) approx. 7 1/2" - 7 5/8" long with a Dia. approx. 2". Can anyone give me some numbers to get filters? I had one more question - it seems during the summer months the oil is fine, although in the cold months i get water in the oil. Someone told me to dump the anti-freeze and put fuel in the radiator, run until hot and this will soften the cylinder sleeve o-rings. Then dump the fuel and put anti-freeze back in. Has anyone tried this, is it worth a try? Thanks for any info.

That amount of water sounds like a serious leak. Are you getting bubbles and foaming at the radiator fill? Be cautious with that bars leak. If it migrates to the oil system it can plug passages and lead to serious engine damage.Candidate leak sources would be head gasket, ferrule seals between block and head and the liner bottom seals.

ARE YOU SURE THERE ARE O RINGS ON THE SLEEVES? MOST OF THE D2"S IF WORKED ON WERE DRY SLEEVED. THE ONLY WAY THAT I KNOW ANTIFREEZE CAN GET INTO THE OIL IS THROUGH THE HEAD GASKET. MOST ARE COPPER OR TIN AND TIGHTENED TO VERY HIGH TORQUE VALUES. I DON"T THINK YOU COULD GET ANITFREEZE THROUGH THE OIL COOLER. SORRY NOT MUCH HELP...

The 2T model is a D4.
Fuel filter elements are a wix # 33164, about $10 ea and you need four. Requires two cover gaskets that you will most likely have to get from Cat.
I have heard of running fuel instead of anti-freeze in the cooling system but not for that reason. I can't see where it will hurt anything to try. How much water in the oil are we talking about? They are known condensate collectors.

At one point there was green anti-freeze int the bottom of the pan. I changed filter and oil ran it in the summer and it didn't seem bad. I parked it in the fall and went to start it in the winter and it was real milky in the oil. The engine doesn't smoke like a gas engine would with water getting in the cylinders. I have put stop leak in the radiator and going to run for a while and try it out.
Thank you so very much for the information. Greatly appreciated.
