I just bought a JD350C, according to the serial number it is an 84 model. It has oil leaking from the reverser to the transmission. I suspect a bad seal. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Everything seems ro run fine as long as there is fluid in the reverser. Thanks for any help you could give me. Steve

Thanks. Will it hurt to run it with the trans fluid over full? When I run it the reverser fluid goes down and the trans fluid overflows.

It was a very common problem when C series came out - with the first wet-steering clutches. One of your steering-clutch packs or steel-lines is probably where the leak is. They get their oil from the reverser. As long as you can keep up with the oil-transfer - I'd use it and not spend the money on fixing it yet. Just keep in mind, the reverser only holds around 3 gallons - and if it gets too low - you could wipe out the internals in the reverser along with the steering-clutches - and that would be very-big dollars.
