Hey guys I don"t know what to do here. I borrowed the neighbors dozer and now I can"t get it to start. Was starting/running good, but now it won"t fire. Starter cranks, mag has spark, carb flows good, but it will not hit a lick. Anyone got any advise?

Thanks

Jerry

Double check the butterfly valves in the intake manifold to make sure they are closed all the way when in the start/gas position. If it isn't used often they won't close completely every time, and it will not start. Sometimes you have to put a little "snap" into it when pulling the start lever to the gas position.

Gary - Thanks for the response. I am not sure of these butterflies in the intake. Are you saying they are activated by the start lever? Maybe a good snap of that lever might free them up?

I,m wondering do you have the valve contorl lever
in the right position. I amassuming this is a unit that starts on gas then switches over to desiel. Has to be in the right position for the gas valves to open..

jerry1 - Yes, it starts on gas then release the lever and give it some throttle to switch over to diesel. At least that is the way it works when it does in fact work.

jerry1 - I think I know what you are talking about. Gas doesn"t get to the carb until you pull the lever. I think that is OK. It will not start even with starting fluid in the air breather.
