case 450b angle cylinder

I am trying to get the bolt off the bottom of the angle cylinder rod to replace the seals in the hydraulic cylinder can't get it to budge. any susjestions I haven't tried to heat it yet.I have had stuff that had to be heated to melt the lock tight to remove the fastner. will this hurt the rod

i wouldnt think it would hurt the rod....you must have at least a one inch thick cylinder rod...you could try and keep it cool with wet rags while your heating to help keep the metal cool. I'm not a mechanic or anything. Just my two cents. Good luck.
