Hi all, could someone tell me if there is a filter or screen on injection pump in the hd6(1960)Thought it might be dirty and starving for fuel.It will start and run for a few seconds then quite. If I try to start again it won't start. When I let it sit for a few minutes it will run again(4-5 seconds). Not getting enough fuel....New filters in it....Was working fine before the water in the fuel.
Thanks for any help,
Naz

Hey,Naz...I always take line off the injectors one at a time, turning the engine over til I get a good shot of fuel out that line before tightening it and going to the next, One trip through usually does it. Good luck, either way...

I seem to remember something about a check or pressure relief valve on the PSB4-90EH pump I have a PSB book at the shop. When I run out there on Thursday AM I will check it and let you know. The valve I speak of is at the forward of the injection head, it is there to maintain 5-15 psi on the pump I think. Eb

I had trouble just like you describe. The pressure line that feeds the injection pump had deteriorated inside and if I cranked the machine, fuel would flow. Once I reconnected the hose the engine would fire then starve for fuel. I had everything loose, blew through the lines, pumped the fuel tank dry and inspected, everything. I replaced all of the fuel hoses shortly after I removed all of my hair. All is well, Allis runs fine! Hope this helps. Eb

HI I suspect missing fuel you should disconnect the fuel line inter the fuel filter and you should see if the fuel is comming full pipe maybe the valve on bottom tank is not full open ,sorry for my bad english writting.
