Hello, I have a 70's model D3 dozer. It has been sitting for about 2 weeks. Ran great two weeks ago, but will not start now. Battery voltage is ok. Tried starting fluid, no joy. Fuel is about 1/4 tank. I am ok on gas engine repairs, but have limited knowledge of diesels. Any troubleshooting help would be appreiated.

Thanks

I have a 931B loader and I've had the wire for the neutral start switch come unplugged. I thought to check it because on my tractor the loader hoses pulled the wire out also. Otherwise I could have been searching for a long time to find the problem. Hope yours is simple. Dave

I'd loosen the lines at the injectors and then pump the pump. If yuo get air bubbles thats your problem. I have a cat engines that's bad at that. Pump until fuel with no air comes out then tighten and give it a try. I use a tad of start fluid but do so at your own risk.

It has been a long time that I was around one. There are a couple of things you might try pump the fuel priming pump until you feel resistance then see if it will fire. One thing I really faught for a while is on ours there was a banjo fitting where the fuel line from the tank hooked to the transfer pump you need to take that fitting out there is a very fine screen in it. That screen is before your fuel filters and can plug up. HTH Chris

hi, have you tried priming the fuel system, making sure that you have clean, air free fuel up to the fuel injectors, you can also try operating the priming pump whilst trys turning over the engine on the starter, as possibley the fuel pressure is low.
