I finally got the serial number from my TD6 on the farm and went to match it with the numbers in the data base so I could date it and find the right manuals for it but my numbers do not make sense. It is a 4-cyclinder model.

The numbers off the plate are:
Model Number: TD6 TDBK
Serial Number: 4912 T14A

My main concern is trying to figure out whether it is a regular or a 61 series.

My crawler has 5 forward and 1 reverse, between the steering levers....does that mean that it is definatly NOT a 61 series?

I agreee with the other post it is a 1941 and not from the 61 series would have to have 5 digits in the serial to be in the 61 series..
someone may have added the dash starting seems like there was a dealer conversion sold aroun 1955 or so to retrofit some of the old units..

I am not sure if that is the right year because I have seen older TD6"s that were hand start and had handles on the head to flip it over, and mine has all the controls from the operators seat. Also mine is solely electric start. Im thinking I might have missed a number when reading it off the plate. You said that the series is a TDBK--does that mean that it is definitley not a 61 series?
