How do I remove the brake bands from my 655 Loader? Do I have to pull the clutch assembly? Does anyone know where I can get the new bands?
Any info is much appreciated.

If you have the part number, a good source for parts is minnpar. You can look up price and available stock at minnpar.com or e-mail info@minnpar.com.

You can buy new bands from a dealer. Most ex-industrial Allis Chalmers dealers still get the parts - mostly from AGCO. In regard to removal - if the bands are one-piece - then the clutch-drums must come out with the bands on them. I've seen some though that have take-apart bands that come in two halves and link at the bottom under the clutch-drum. They come out without pulling the drum.

Take the top-cover off. Unhook the linkage, unbolt the clutch-assembly where it is connected to the final-drive input flange (on the outside) - and - on the inside - take the lock-ring off the splined shaft and push that shaft into (towards) the ring-gear carrier until it is totally out of the clutch pack. Then, just lift out.
