If you're buying it as a user - and not a collector's machine - I wouldn't pay much. I've passed up similar running machines in the $3000 price-range running and $800 not running. I've also seen them cleaned up and painted with asking prices of $6000. I'm not sure about the advantage of a diesel engine with new rings? If that means new rings with old pistons and bores in a 14.5 - 1 compression diesel - the engine longevity is suspect - and Hercules diesel parts are not cheap or easy to find. The diesel is rated at 30 flywheel horsepower, 27 at the belt, and 25 at the drawbar. Steering clutches - if they are exist are wet clutches -but the crawler could also have a no-clutch planetary drive. Also available was either a "Travel Reverser" or a "Slo-Lo" aux. transmission. If it does NOT have the "Slo-Lo" it will be too fast in first gear for heavy work. It's a difference of 1.5 MPH versus .8 MPH in first gear at full throttle. Don't get me wrong - I like Cletracs. But - if you want an 8000 lb. weight-class loader machine -there are better buys out there - if you have real work in mind.

Good thing elections are comming because this answer is not going to tell you or help you much unless you provide more information. There are 2 series of OC-46 diesel tractors. The ones made in Cleveland and the Series B made in Charles City Iowa. There are two diferent steering systems, clutch steering and conventional steering. So how about a serial number? What are you trying to clear? Remember this is about a 20 horsepower machine. More questions? J.
