I HAVE A JD 310A BACKHOE THAT RUNS FOR THREE OR FIVE MINUTES AND THEN DIES. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL FILTER AND THE FILTER UNDER THE TANK AND CONTINUES TO DIE ON ME. PLEASE ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

THANX

On the side of the injector pump is a little plate with 2 small screws in it [ about 1/2" X 1"]..Place a clean white or light colored cloth directly underneath the plate.Take the screws out and pop the plate off . There will be a rubber gasket under it.Peal the gasket off if it didn't come off with the plate.Catch anything that comes out with the fuel running out..If there is black granular flecks there , the injector pump governor needs rebuilt..

When cleaning the lines, be sure to clean the return lines to the tank also. Check that the return fitting on the top of the pump is not blocked. There is a glass? ball in that fitting,
a failing pump will plug that fitting.

I just recently had the same kind of trouble with my AC dozer.Found the fuel line from filter into pump had collapsed, could hardly blow compressed air through it,allthough the line looked fine. Was the last thing I checked,
Good luck,
Naz

Dirt or something in the tank? or somewhere in the lines? Air leak? It sounds like something is restricting the fuel but not completely blocking it. The filter fills and it runs till the filter is empty. It fills the filter then quits again. Maybe you could blow the lines out with a low pressure air gun. Hope this helps. Dave
