steering clutch problems on oddball machine

I have a d-fab Trackmaster which is the successor of the Agricat - Agritrac.
Water got in the left main travel gear housing and only after about 20-30 hrs after I bought and used it, the left side locked up and all the bearings were gound up.
I took it apart, replaced all the bearings on both sides. When I was cleaning the steering clutches I found the liner worke down to the rivets. I got a place to reline them, but couldn't realy tell them the originally thickness of the liners as there is little information on this oddball machine.
MY PROBLEM NOW IS THAT I CAN'T GET THE STEERING CLUTCH ADJUSTED SO THE THING TURNS. I got travel which was what didn't work when I took it apart.
IS anyone familiar with the simple looking set up which uses a chain drive shaft with throwout collars that are attached to yolks/lever and then in my machine are moved by small servo pumps when you push the steering levers. The collar is supposed to move towards the center of the machine allowing the clutch assembly to move in the same direction coming in contact with stationary brakes bolted to the machines side walls. The liners have splines to match those on the shaft so they continue to move on the side the lever is used but the clutches are attached to the hub inside and the thru the machine to the big bull gear which turns the sprocket. That allow the other side to keep moving and the machine turns in the direction of the stopped track.
I'd really appreciated any ideas on troubleshooting the problem. It is so bizarre because the steering worked just fine and it was the travel that didn't. Now it's the other way around.
I can send pictures to anyone who might be able to help me with this problem. Thanks KM

Try the Yahoo group "track laying garden tractors". You will have to "join" to access the site but that is quick and easy. They have lots of information and support for the small crawlers such as the agricat, agratrack and magnatrac. There is at least one photo album for the trackmaster.

Belong to all the "smaller" crawler groups. Have posted to all. Either noboby knows or nobody is replying. Thought this group might have a larger viewing audience given all the better known tracked machine owners that post. I had hoped that maybe some older versions of the better known machines may have used a similar system. Thanks KM
