I have a 580 CK that I just rebuilt all of the hydraulic cylinders on. A lot of the steel lines have been bent out of shape over the years. It also looks like it has been re-plumbed a little. Does anyone know if the hoses that come from the control valve body cross before they go to the manifold? Or do they just go straight into the manifold? One more question, as you are sitting in the hoe operator seat does the bucket curl hoses attach to the left side of the manifold or the right. The machine I have is plumbed so the first lever controls the boom the second lever controls the dipper and the third lever controls the bucket curl. I left out the stabilizers. Is this how the 580 CK is supposed to be plumbed?

Somebody may have changed it. Get some hose protector for all the hoses. It will save you a big headache if the hoses burst because they wore through. You can get the sleeve that goes over the hose that is similar to kevlar, but you have to disconnect the hose to put it on. The other way is to get the spiral wrap that is thick pvc. Either one will save you a lot of hose failures. Dave

Thanks, I will do that. I did change the hoses around going to the manifold But now I have some issues connecting the hoses down stream to the manifold. The guy who had this machine before me bought it new but did not maintain it very well. Thanks

My biggest concern is the hoses from the control valve body. Steel lines leave the control valve body. Then hoses from the steel lines to the manifold that is in the boom section. when I bought this machine the hoses were crossed. which made the bucket curl hoses connect to the right side of the manifold. which in trun made the hoses that crossed wear by rubing. I can't believe it is suposed to be plumbed the way I bought it. The hoe levers do the right function. I think someone moved some hoses around after the control valve.

JOB,

Boom in right hand, bucket in left , dipper

in the center. 3 lever with pedal swing is

about the nicest set of controls , beats a

wobble stick any day. Case's first crack at

wobble sticks had boom and swing in right

hand , bucket and dipper in left and that was

somewhat tolerable then along came industry

standard ( what a disaster ).
