I need a larger excavator and found a Mitsu MS300 serial # 9052 for $20k in its working clothes. Works great;is it worth the money? What year is it? What is the shipping weight? Thanks in advance.

It's probably in the same weight class as other 300 class machines [60-70000lbs. as a guess]. I knew a guy that demo'd one. He said it was a good machine. I'd guess it's probably a mid to late eighties machine, possibly early nineties. Try to find out if it has common hydraulics like other makes. A lot of the Japanese machines are the basis for other machines like Cat or Case or Link belt etc. $20k doesn't sound too bad if everything works good. Mitsubishi is a big company with a lot of resources. They are partnered with Cat for smaller dozers and loaders. Hope this helps. Dave

I looked on machinery trader. It might be the same as a Cat EL300 with a Mitsubishi engine. Probably early to mid eighties. If Cat used them, that would explain why they weren't made later as they would compete against Cat. Dave
