i should change front crossbar on a bulldozer with blade frame mounted inside tracks. was wondering how the best way is to go about it. looks to me that both track frames get pulled?

it is the bushing style but bushings and capscrews gone,looks like about 50#s of weld where someone tried to glue it to track frames. cant tell for sure but looks like outer ears might be brokeoff.again,so dogone much weld i cant tell. looks like the 3/4 taps are stripped out too.dont know about 5/8 ones.i think the rigid mount has more cap screws too dont it?

The rigid mount is by far the better of the 2..In the kit if I remember correctly there was a couple of plates supplied that got welded to the top of the track frame to provide for a stronger mounting surface..Any way you look at it , it's a bunch of work..

You got it..Thats how I'd do it..Is the crossbar that bad it needs to be changed ?? Is the crossbar the type that uses bushings with the mounting bolts ?? Or bolted down solidly ?? That crossbar is cast steel . It can be welded if necessary..I've welded up the holes where the steel bushings go through , ground them and installed new bolts and bushings..
