JD450C bucket/crawler barely moves. Had been left unused outside in central Virginia climate for 5+ years. Prior to that, it was running good. Upon recently restarting it, ran pretty well at first but drive train was making a lot of 'squealing/squalling' over distance of 1/2 mile and heavy load moving a 23,000 lb mobile home in cold weather. Shortly after that I shut it down again for a long period. Later got back to it...changed all oils and fluids...and upon removing transmission filter noted a number of what appeared to be very small curls of rubber (o-rings?) in the filter basket. Each is about the diameter of a cigarette. Opon restart, engine and lift still ran fine...but forward/ reverse travel almost impossible. Moves only on absolutely level ground. No pushing power. Moves only in Low Range & Low/Reverse gears. Clutch engages movement only when clutch is in the lower/middle area of the pedal stroke. Steering clutches kick in but upon engaging them and trying to turn...lot of 'squealing' and engine dies if I do not back off power. Any suggestions as to what repairs I face would be appreciated. Thanks, Ray

Will check it out. Thanks! Still wondering however why the drive clutch kicks in only wehn in mid-stroke of the pedal. By that I mean, there is about a 1/4" section in the mid-stroke of the pedal whereby the tractor tries to move only if I manage to keep the clutch pedal in that very limited area. To the floor -nothing. All the way out...nothing. Just in that one fine area does it try to function.

HLR adjustment is way out of sync...Or a roll pin is breaking or knuckle on the end of clutch operating shaft os all egged out...

I'll check out your HLR suggestion as well. I have the technical manual and hopefully I'll better understand things when I open it back up.
Thanks Again! Ray

Could the brakes be applied as you're trying to move the machine??Check for rusted brake pedal pivot.. The only rubber thats in that transmission is piston seals and pump sealing ring and o-rings on the pressure and lube lines. There are a couple of o-rings in the transmission valve , but they shouldn't be shedding rubber where they're at..
