Hi all, well, after runing the preasure checks, I realized my forward pack was running at lower preasure than reverse pack. A good local mechanic picked the machine up and tore her down. Overall, he sais good machine. Will need the spider shaft and the output shaft. demaris, I can see that at least 3 years ago you were not aware of any aftermarket parts. The part numbers I am looking for are T37439 (spider) and T34905 (output). Does anyone know of any aftermarket suppliers of these parts? Good news is, the clutch plates were not toast. Will also check out the reverser pump. In the process, he noted the bearings on the water pump need to be replaced. I guess overall, could"ve been a lot worse.
Thanks,
Joel

demaris, good point, here I am expecting everyone to remember exactly who I am and exactly what I have.
It's a JD350B.
Mechanic invited me up to view the machine, I have faith in him (hopefully not famous last words, seriously, he's a straight up guy).
With the machine being a 350B, any advice any of you guys have with regards to sourcing and exactly which parts to replace would be greatly appreciated, I'll read all, print all, and then go view the machine, trying to keep the pain ($) within limits.
Again, thanks guys your help is hugely appreciated. PS, where is the Massachussetts guy, figured he wouldn't be able to resist from responding.

I don't know what vintage your 350 is and/or if it has ever been updated. But . . . if it's an older one, and is still original, and you're buying new parts anyway - make sure you get the later input shaft/drum that uses a larger center-bearing - if it will fit. I don't know what vintage flywheel-drive setup you have. The early small-center bearing is the #1 weak-spot in the old reversers. We used to update the old ones - and perhaps Deere only sells the updated parts anyway. I haven't worked for a Deere dealer in almost 20 years - and haven't kept up with parts updates. I kind of wonder WHY you need a front shaft/drum? Is the bearing race wiped out in it? I ask because I've seen more get ruined by mechanics then actually worn out - usually in failed attempts to remove the center-bearing race. In regard to aftermarket parts, I've spoken to people in Canada that say they get them - but true or not, I don't know. I was under the impression that Twin-Disk made the internals for Deere - that I cannot verify either. If you are buying a new output shaft - make sure you install the oil-orifice into it. It does NOT come with it. I've seen a couple of people get into a mess by leaving it out - and subsequently losing all their return-clutch and lube pressure.

Deere still has those parts but at $1000 for the spider and $560 for the shaft. No after market company makes those parts that I know of so that leaves used. Those are common parts to fail on the 350 so they are difficult to find. Might have to bite the bullit and buy new. Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply, yup, saw those parts on the deere site also. Some say there are aftermarket, I've also seen Deere sell them for less than the site price. Will search.
Thanks,
Joel

Did a little searching and found the shaft at this site for $235. They might be able to find a spider to.
