Hi all,
This will be my last post on this subject.
I am desperately trying to find a spider T37439 and an isolator AT29086 (this is the center hub portion, which the spider slips into).
These parts are crazy money new and looking to get used.
Thanks,
Joel

Try these guys. They are a couple miles from the house and have a large yard full of well organized stuff.

I don't know which isolator is used in your machine, mine has the simple clutch plate type. I got a new one from Brandt Tractor, western Canada JD dealer. I first called 'new'parts at the nearest branch. Forget that. Called around to a few mechanics and wreckers then called the Brandt Tractor used parts. Those guys know their stuff. I ended up with a new isolator, $600 Canadian. Given the age of the machine and the relative unavailability of parts I didn't think that was too bad.

The clutch-plate type isolator was only used in the 1010s and the earliest 350s. The parts are different for it, including the input shaft for the reverser.

jdemaris, I will follow-up with all of your leads.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Worried about buying a complete used Reverser and then finding out it junk inside.

I guess, I could at least look at the splines on the spider and get some feel for the condition of the spider.

I'll follow-up with all of the leads you've provided.

Wish I was just more local to this stuff.

Joel

Find a dealer that is hooked up with the used parts network. They cover all North America. Thats how I found an oil pan for my cat. It was a heavy cast unit for about $350 including shipping to Canada. A pressed steel one from Cat was about double that and a lot less heavy duty. Hope this helps. Dave

I already ran these parts on a locator for Joel. But it could hurt to keep trying and there must be more then one locator system so you never know. Finding a oil pan or cast part much easier then a wear part as most internal parts on these 30 year old crawlers are shot. I drive them into the shop as good working machines then i take them apart and not a single good sellable part in them. Very disapointing at the prices i have to pay for parts machines these days I would love to phase out that part of my business.Anyone what to buy a business??

Thanks guys,
Figured I'd give it one last shot.
Ed, I asked for a picture of the used spider the guy (actually it's my local Nortrax dealer, took the advice and chased down the dealer network) is asking $607 for, if it looks real good, I mind as well go with it as it will at least save me $300 or so. True that the aftermarket is where it's at, hmmmm, maybe it's time to open up a machine shop.
Would be lost without this forum.
Joel
