Hi all! I just found this forum and maybe someone could help me.
The excavator I'm running seems to be losing pulling power in one track and wondering what the problem could be. It's a Kubota 161 if that helps any.

Lately , I've found the packings in the Rotary manifold have been failing..This is the manifold that all the travel lines attach to .This manifold had seperate oil porting for each function for the tracks . When an o-ring and back-up ring fail , this will allow oil under pressure to go to another function and cause a lazy track function.. I've worked on a Koehring 6614 and a Komatsu PC 160 and found the same problem . After disassembling unit , clean it and reseal it..The manifold will be found under the boom main pins , in the center point of the excavator..Then there are relief valves that could cause a low pressure problem..And finally a junk propel motor..If the machine has a gang of hours on it I would go for the cheap fix and look at the rotary manifold...
