I am looking for any information on a Massey Ferguson 2244D dozer. I guess more specifically size(weight), engine, reliability of unit?? There is currently one for sale on ebay and I have some interest in it, but I really dont know a lot about MF dozers. Thanks for the help! Case

I think marlowe posted here some time back that tracks and undercarriage parts were non-existent. I was looking at a 2244 for sale locally with frozen track joints at the time. I decided to pass on it.

Thanks for the information. I am kind of in the market for a dozer and that one caught my attention knowing that it probably had a perkins diesel in it and it appeared to be a decent machine for the money. I have a 354 perkins engine but it is too big for that application. I really did not know anything about MF dozers, just a thought! Thanks again for the help!

The 2244 has a 3-152 Perkins diesel and manual shuttle transmission. The bare tractor weighs approx. 6600 lbs. and the angle dozer weighs 2440 lbs. The blade is 80 inches wide and 24 inches high. The engine is excellent but don't know about the rest of the machine. It was updated to the MF200. Hope this helps. Dave

MF are OK,but parts are getting hard to find.I think Hector Gemme has parts in the USA.I have 2 drotts dismantled in Australia. They have 3-152 Perkins engine, weigh about 5 tons.Watch for steering problems,& sometimes the front axle cracks at the track frames.Handy sized machine.
Hope that helps.
