I just bought a Mitsubishi BD2G. Learned the hard way not to trust the sellers comment. Suposedly, had over 50% life. They evidently drove it the 500 miles instead of hauling it. Anyhow, The rollers are all past being shot. the sprocket and bushings are about gone. I really can't afford to do it all now. I would like to replace the rollers and remove a link to get some adjustment back. Put off on the track and sprockets until later in the year. Since the items I mentioned are so bad, what elsae should I look at before deciding. Is there anything on the idler rollers that I should check?

Sounds like I better bite the bullet and do it all at once. Just to make sure, when you say "rail" is that the bottom of the carrier chain or the steel beam that the rollers mount to? The right front idler also looks to have a bad bearing. You can see where the idler is wearing on the hub and I can get it to move about 3/16" with a crow bar. Can I just replace the bearing? My manuals have not arrived so i am still guessing alot. Looks like 10 Rollers for $1800 two track chains for $1800. Can I buy the whole sprocket or only weld on? Do the existing sprockets have to have the teeth turned down to use a weld on set? Is it feasible to try to reuse the pad bolts and nuts. Thanks for all of your help.

My book says if you can remove a link and get it back tocether then the pitch is off too far to consider running it that way. It also says to not consider doing it at all because pins and bushings and I believe sprockets also are worn out.

Whats to decide?? You need to do an undercarriage..Many people who aren't dozer savy get burned on sellers comments..I've seen it time and time again..Do you use the dozer for customer work or your own "farm" work ?? If for customer work , I'd take out a loan and do it right..You'll eventually get the machine to pay the payments when you work it at jobsites...

Badly worn tracks can ruin new rollers. If the rail is worn in excess, the roller flanges may hit the pin bosses in the track. Measure things before you go to far. Also, take a bar and shake the Idlers and see how much they move side to side. In all truth, everything should be replaces at the same time. Dave!
