final drive for allis chalmers 653 crawler

I have a allis chalmers 653 with the rt side final drive seized up. does anyone know of what might cause it,or have an idea what it takes to repair it? Or does anyone have a good rt side final drive available? Thanks Paul

It's got two shafts and two pairs of bearings. Just take it apart and fix as needed. Bearings and shaft though, when bad, tend to get loose and leak - not sieze. You sure your problem isn't something esle? Removing the entire housing can be quite a project on that crawler and shouldn't be necessary.
653 is basically the same machine as the HD4 if you go looking for used parts. I think the HD3 finals will fit also, but require enlarging a few bolt holes.
