Go to the link below and read through it, it explains all about tracks that you are ever likely to need to know.

thanks I appreciate it, I am hoping to get them both home sunday probably wont be until middle of the week before I really look at them. I just put another tractor in the barn that needs a head gasket so the spot is taken at this time, I will post back when I get it home and started. just what I need another project, but this one will at least save me money and earns its keep.[I am hoping....]

The undercarriage is the rails (chains that the pads bolt to), the rollers, Idlers, and the track frame.
The tracks may be stretched (there are charts to tell the length per link between pins), the bushins may be worn, the final drive cog may have worn teeth, the rails may be worn down and the vertical height of the chain less than spec, the idlers or rollers may have flat spots or worn down in diameter.
All of these wear items have minimum diameters or thicknesses. If you measure what you have, and compare to what is new size, you can get a ratio of worn to new. That is what the % figure given is refering to, current compared to brand new size.
However, I find that most of the % given are very optimistic on the older units, and are more of a wishing guess than actual measured calculation. :(
