Hey, saw your post the other day about the value of a 595 American. I got a chance today to check a book we've got at the shop called Top Bid that lists the bid prices of equipment sold at the various auctions. The newest one we've got was from 2002 and the only 595 listed went for almost $9000, and was in "good" condition whatever that means. The other machines in the size ranges just under and over the 595 were going anywhere for $7000 for the smaller ones and $13,000 for the larger ones. As far as the engine being locked up that ought to cut a fair amount off the price if it is. I just got done rebuilding a 4-71 out of a 108 Linkbelt. Dad hasn't gotten all the invoices or totalled out the labor yet but he said it was gonna fall pretty much inline with the estimate I gave them of $10,000. Typically I can estimate a rebuild pretty close by going about $2000 per cylinder and then adding or subtracting labor depending on what it's in and how hard it's gonna be to pull and reinstall. The one I just did included a reman blower, injectors, water and fuel pump,a new blower drive coupling, and a new lube oil cooler core. The cooler core was bad and as for the other parts it's just not worth the potential problems, especially in a lifting crane, not to use new parts. If I had needed the rocker arms or anything else like that it would have driven the cost up even more but fortunately they were all still withing spec. I'm sure my estimate would be different in different places because of labor rates, etc, but basically if the engine is locked your gonna be in the $10,000 range to rebuild. Good luck and if you do get it and need any bands relined give me a shout, we do that too.

Thanks for the good information. If I need some info i'll be sure to try and get in touch with you. My uncle is looking at purchasing the machine and is trying to find out whether it is worth it or not. But once again, Thanks!!!
