I'm looking for a starter for this 1970's crawler. What I have is an EFEL starter, but I'm being told that this is not the correct starter, that it should have a Lucas starter on it. The Parts houses that I have called come up with a Delco #, but this Starter has a nose cone on it and mine does not. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Dave

Use the Delco it is better than the lucas. Both our MF 300 and our MF400 came with Lucas starters and when they went bad we replaced them with Delco starters and they started the machines much better.

If it's like the tractors, a Delco may work. My UK tractor has a Lucas starter but US models have a Delco. Same thing with my Japanese made CAT. It has a Nippon Denso starter but a Delco will bolt right in. Hope this helps. Dave
