We have a LX565diesel skiloader and the fuel is gelled up. It has been blow zero the last few days. I know I should have put additive in the fuel but I didn't do that until after it gelled up. I cjanged the fuel filters hoping that would help but it didn't. Any ideas on how to get it running.

Thanks

Joe

i live in ontario and use HOWES !!! the best stuff going anyway if shes really bad put some kleen flow in her and bleed fuel system kleen flow will also disperse water if there is any ?
heat cant harm though i think id put the kleen flow in then bleed it and afterwards run it for awhile and put somes howes lubricator in it and should be fine !! might also be good time to do fuel filters but might not be necessary ? anyway its been -20 to -30 range here and this stuff works for my machines .

Joe,

Either try to warm the machine or get your hands on some Power Service "Diesel 911". If you have a local Fleetpride, try them. Remove the filters and drain out as much fuel as you can, refill them with 911 and pour the rest in the tank. It may take 2 bottles to do the job.

Once you're going, treat your fuel with diesel fuel conditioner or you can cut the fuel with kerosene (up to 5%), or a combination of both.

Good luck,
Scott

Thanks for the responses. I'm going to get some diesel 911 and tarp it and heat it tommorrow.

Same problem here in WI. My truck took the big hit and was down for a couple days. New filters didn't do it, but 24 hours at 60F did. Took time to get a heated place.

I have had decent luck with HOWES and FPPS total power. Mix at 3x the listed rate. The new ULSD isn't behaving itself.

I went to 3 places for additives today. First place said the trash haulers had been in on Monday and bought their entire stock of any and all additives that said antigel. The local Farm/fleet was out of Diesel 911 so was walmart. Guy at Catco told me that everybody is stuck and they think the diesel stations weren't doping the fuel with additives to save money.

You can buy special additive for gelled diesel. It is only used if the fuel is already gelled. Putting a tarp over it and warming it up is a good idea. If you get it going, make sure to put winter diesel in it. Dave

Can you get electricity near it?? If so , tarp it and put a torpedo heater under it so's not to burn it to the ground..After it gets warmed up , put in some NAPA diesel fuel conditioner and run it after bleeding the filters...Whats wrong with your fuel that it's gelling ?? You can also put in some # 1 Kerosene to thin the fuel..A 50/50 mix will work for you..
