My friend and I just agreed to buy a 2000 model 416 Cat combo, 2wd, std hoe w/2 buckets, with forks for the front bucket, 50% rubber, very str8 metal and good original paint,7600hrs last ran 6 months ago (my friend used it) and was running fine then, we just have to put a battery in it and air in front tires...$5,000...crossing fingers, thats quite a few hours...

You might want to give him $8000. You know, that way you won't have any trouble sleeping after you give your school buddy the shaft. He He

For $5000 if it runs OK, you could put another $5000 or possibly more into it and still have a good deal. 7600 hours with good maintenance could last a long time yet. Maybe double. It probably has a Perkins (Cat) engine in it. The hoe is probably designed so pins and bushings can be replaced. If they have to be cut out costs a little more. Dave

not an ebay scam, we've both known the owner since school, he just doesnt need it anymore and doesnt seem to want to take the time to put batteries in it and air up the tires. I talked to one of the last guys to run it this am and he said that the hoe end was kinda sloppy and it had a few hyd leaks but it seemed to run fine to him...I was gonna go see it in the morning but I gotta work so it will have to wait til sunday....
