i have a ditch witch trencher with a4cyl. gas engine model #r65 on trencher. i would like to know what the hp. is and the make of the engine? thanks

BIL Had a R65 Ditchwitch 10 yrs. or so ago it was powered by a Ford 4cyl industrial.

the trencher motor is water cooled model. kinda look lik an allis chalmers made engine.

I think some later models might have had Perkins in them. The VH4D was used in swathers as well as the 37 hp VG4D. Dave

The R65 has a 65 HP wisc. A V465D They were made pre 1980.

The engine is probably an air cooled Wisconsin. It might even be a V65 model of 65 hp hence the model name R65. There should be a plate riveted on the fan shroud of the engine. The R or V30 trencher (can't remember which) used a Wisconsin of 30 hp, the same as in a swather. Hope this helps. Dave

If it was a 30 hp Wisconsin in a swather, skidloader, etc, would it be a vh4d OR VH4F?
