I have a rubber tired front loader that says its a MF-40. I've been told its an industrial tractor. Has a locking rear end, touch-toe hydro-shuttle and a 3 point hitch. I rebuilt the 3 cy 83152 Perkins engine as a winter project 3 winters ago and have probably put 20-30 hours on it since then.

I have much more horse power than acreage and am going to moving some equipment on. I can't find anything on a MF-40 so don't know how to price it.

Any information would be appreciated.

An MF40 is what they called a hard nose because it had a heavy steel guard around the radiator. It is similar to an MF20 but is heavier duty and has hydrostatic power steering and a heavier front axle. It could also be purchased with either the MF32 loader or the 4 bar bucket linkage MF34 loader. It came with a manual shuttle or instant reverse trans and differential lock. There was also a UK version of it that had some differences. The engine is the same as a 135. If everything works good, you should be able to get a pretty good price for it. It's a good tractor. Without seeing it I would guess at least $4 or $5000 as a starting point. Maybe more with the rebuilt engine. Dave

Thanks for the great information. It did indeed have the same engine as the 135 and the MF200 Crawler that I have. I"ve worked it hard enough to know the rebuilt engine is in good shape so I"ll take it to the street at $5K and see where it goes.

Thanks again for your help.
