Does anyone know where to find a Drott Bucket 4 in 1 relief valve. It comes off of a 72 JD350B. I have checked with Case and matched it closely with a 1050 Case with the Drott Bucket, but it is no long available. Please help.

I've been thinking some more about this valve. It seems that it can't function as a crossover valve in a plow system because for any given dispacement of the piston, the fluid volumes on the two sides of the same cylinder change by different amounts, due to the volume occupied by the rod on one side. Either you're going to have to let air get sucked in, or have a small reservoir, or something else. In a plow system there's an equal volume displacement in the cylinder on the other side.

I would think that you would want to find the Drott manual for the 4 in 1 attachment. I think this would be better than the Deere manuals. For example, I have the manual for my Drott 340K3 skid shovel attachment to an IH TD340A, and it shows all the parts for the corresponding relief valve. It's pretty simple, and I remember replacing the O rings some years ago. If you do have the original part I would try to recondition it or have someone do that. If it's like mine, it's basically O rings, plunger, a spring, and possibly some shims -- all standard fare.

I pulled mine apart, there is a a leather packing that is gone. I do have the drott parts list, but case no longer supplies the parts. I just ordered a 1/2 cushion valve I am going try to put it on the bucket.

If your new part doesn't work, I would think that you could get another packing, even if of another material, that would work. A dedicated hydraulic shop would probably be able to help.

That valve is a mechanism that dumps exessive oil pressure to the other side of the circuit and relieves damaging pressure spikes...In heavy duty truck snowplows there is a " cushion valve " that does the same thing..If you hit an immovabable object with a large truck snowplow , something has to "give"..This cushion valve opens to the other side of the circuit and relieves the pressure spike..These valves can be purchased from surplus center.com..Look carefully at the specs. on these valves..,Look for an adjustable type so you can custom tune the valve to your needs.. A 1/2" valve should be plenty of capacity..If you have to get a 3/4" or 1" valve you can add a reducer bushing to hose it..

Those are also called "crossover relief" valves.
