I just recently purchased a J.D. 420c. I was using it to push snow and noticed that the upper rollers don't turn. Are they supposed to turn? If so are they rebuildable or do I have to buy new ones.

And if you run it frozen very long it will wear a flat spot on it and become junk.

Thanks all for your input. Since we just got 4 more inches toadd to the 3+ feet we got last week I think the roller project will wait till spring. I"ll let you all know how it goes. Thanks again. Bob

Get a big pipe wrench and a cheater and try to turn it. If that does'nt work it is probably shot.

Thanks, any way in particular to check if they are frozen, or just wait for warmer weather?

If you have or can borrow a kerosene heater (salamander) for an hour set it on something so it is aiming on the roller about 2' away.
