international 500 e or c? need help

can someone tell me the difference between the e and c series on the international 500 series?im looking at a 500 series international and the guy who has it doesnt know the year or the model for sure. i have a picture if somone would help me out.

Yes, the 500E had power steering and the 500C manual. I'm not really a 500C expert so I may be off a little here, but I do have a 500E that just underwent a two year restoration. That's a story in itself. The engine/transmission is basically the same in both, as is the frame with the exception of the crossbeam that connects the main frame to the trackframes. The 500C used a round bar whereas the 500E used a rectangular bar. The biggest difference is in the final drives. The drive sprocket on the 500E is flat, the 500C cone-shaped. The final drives seem to be a weak link, and while the internal gears and bearings can be found, the housings themselves are next to impossible to find. The 500E's seem to be harder to find than the 500C's. I searched the country for a housing for mine, and found two. I paid twice as much for the housing as I did for the dozer.

I think one difference is that the 500E had power assisted steering where the 500C was strictly armstrong. Probably other differences as well.
