My closest friend has a TD35 that we need a magneto for. The magneto must have counterclockwise rotation.

Some of those listed below will operate either way. They just need the appropriate parts set up the right way round or the left way round, for that matter.

Only the Bosch MJA,MJB or MRF I mentioned would be reversible as impulse and cams for points can be changed but not so on the others with fixed cams on magnet shaft. The E-gap would be off and they won't fire right. A CW drive base mount 35º mag was real common and not hard to find. Neither are CCW base mounts. How many do you guys need? lol.

Yep. The E-gap will prolly be too far off even to be generating enough current energy to get a spark, when the points open, unless it is driven fast with an electric drill. Parts in at least some of those Bosch mags are already fitted and only need turning around or retiming for opposite rotation.

You detemine magneto rotation by facing the drive end of magneto and the way it turns to impulse. All mag books I have show the TD 35 & TD 40 used a CW, clockwise drive, base mount mag with 35º impulse. TD6 & TD9 did use a CCW mag however. For TD35 any mag that drives CW, base mount, 4 cylinder with 35º impulse should work.

We were looking at it from the wrong end with the cap off the back. After reading the one post, I realized that.
We just need to come up with one for a TD35 that has a Bucyrus-Erie dozer.
Thanks for all the replies.
