I'm going to buy a Dynahoe model 120 for 5K that is in excellent condition, one owner and only just over 2K hours. Everything works great but I have no info on this model such as;

weight HP
anything else someone may know.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim: Thanks for the reply...engine probably is a ford 4 cyl. diesel, many 120's were gas. With respect to ripping shale. The Dynahoe will do that fairly easy. Here on the east coast in New York City they are used to rip down through blacktop and concrete to do sewer line repairs, so shale should be no problem.

Please make sure your teeth on the bucket are in very good condition. I have several parts numbers for the teeth if you need them. Or if you have an Anderson Equipment out your way they can reference the teeth. Hensley is one brand of teeth to consider if yours are bad.

Do yourself a favor and insure that you grease all of the grease fittings on this machine. Bronze stock is readily available if pins have worn the bushings on the loader or the hoe. Wish I was out there to see it, sure like the stoughtness of the Dynahoes. I am in the Northern part of New York State, still snow and cold here with 2' snow on the ground. Currently, restoring a 1963 Dynahoe A. More Questions, let me know. Good Luck with the machine and the property ... like the photo's!! Bob

Thanks again Bob.

My direct email is tim@timmerduder.com. Sounds like you have a line on parts and such, I'm sure I'll need some of that. Out here we just got another couple feet of snow at my place, el. 2685', you should see the ruts from tryng to bring a 6' bucket of shale up from the pit in my Kubota :)

Thanks,
Tim

Thanks Bob!

I'll give you a few more details of what I do know. It is a diesel machine, which from what I think I know so far is a Fordson, or Ford industrial motor. It does have an enclosed cab and the brakes work fine. I have about 10 acres where I have shale comming out of the ground on a hip and plan to dig a lot of that as well as do trenching, excavating etc. I had a IH500C crawler with a 4in1 which i recently sold and now have a 32HP Kubota with all the attachments. I figured a nice strong hoe, doesn't need to be very mobile, would be the perfect fit esp. at the price.

Thanks again,
Tim

Weight = 12,500 +-
HP 4 cyl. Gas Ford Industrial.. guess is 60 -65 hp
Strong Hydraulics
Slow over ground... Site machine, not a road machine.
Usually Borg Warner Three Speed coupled to a Torque Converter.
Simple to Work On
Vickers 20-25 GPM Pump Normally Driven off Crank
Look For Cab Model rather than open station... this kept debris out of Valve Body to operate Hoe. Hydraulic Tank Buried Under Hood.. not easily accessible.
Brakes can be problematic if no maintenance. Replacement Brake Master Cylinders - Two one for each side are $100...each new. More Questions???? Glad to help out and Good Luck Tim! Bob
