My 750 I bought is tracking left which is no big deal except when loading and unloading. It also creeps in neutral. I have the tech manual but before diving in would like to hear from someone with experience. One question is how to get to adjustments ect.

Toby

Like Roy said... its nothing anyone can gude you through on here... Its usually a long drawn out process and usually when you correct one mistrack pattern you create a new mistrack pattern. BUT..one thing to try is to open the bleed screws on the displacement control valves.. theres one on either side, but are not in identical locations. They bleed internally, so there wont be any mess. Open them a turn or 3 , the machine will barely move , but cycle it forward and reverse, and turn and counter-rotate. If its been sitting for a long time or if someone had anything apart, sometimes the control circuit (the circuit that you are bleeding the air out of) gets air in it and will cause a creep in neutral as well as erratic turning. Might not cure anything but its a place to start, and its FREE ...

System Testing has a lot of good information in it..Go back and forth between the transmission section and system testing section to figure out whats up...

Had any experience adjusting those "slugs"???This is not something that someone will walk you through on the net..You need to have a working knowledge of the control systems , High pressure systems , where to adjust what , when ...Get a tech manual and read up on the system...I still can't for the life of me figure why Deere put 2 seperate transmissions, and expect them to act identically...Just a relief valve slightly different will cause mistracking..A little slop in the displacement control valve linkage will cause an errant operating system with no pattern of mistracking...There are 2 motor displacement control valves and 2 pump displacement control valves..To zero out the stopped machine so it won't creep , you will have to start with the pump displacement control valve and with an 1/8 inch allen adjust the screw back and forth till it stops the track..Putting it up on blocks is the safest way to adjust the machine...If the machine does actually stop by adjusting these screws , run the F-N-R lever back and forth and check for tracking in neutral again. If it tries to move in neutral , there's something wrong with the linkages inside..I've worked on these machines for days trying to get them to stop and move as they should.....It's the only school that the dealers that I worked for ever sent me to ..I still cringe when I see them..Sorry to say but, Cat has a better idea with hydrostatics...There's servo's that sometimes need adjustment too [ stop screws and can adjustments...The pressures at the control valve have to be identical side to side in order to make the transmissions operate the same..... Sheeeesh....Where do we start????

thanks in reply to Roy Suomi, 03-04-2007 09:55:12
I am going to read up on the tech manual. I have had just a little hydro experience. I am trying to figure how to get to the the adjustments as pictures don't give the real story.

Thanks.

i worked for a company that had both 750 & 850 and we use to cut a oak block and put it under the draw bar and pick the tracks off the ground with the blade then one guy would seat and run tracks and the other would turn the adjment screws in back till they were the same speed jim
