We had a narrow gauge D2 without a dozer on the farm. Not sure what the year of mfg. it was, but it was the first year they came out with the fuel tank behind the seat, instead of on the fender. One of my first summer jobs was running a D2 with a dozer for a local landscaper. We dug a basement in town for a new house and I thought we'd never finish. Having operated both a TD6 and a D2 with 6ft. dozers, I would say the TD6 had a bit more ompf.

As for parts availability I have no idea on the D2, but as KoO says, a lot of parts for the TD6 are still available through an ag dealer.

the td-6 is a popular cat just like the d2. easy to transport and easy to work on. most engine parts you can get from the ag guys.
